Mahesh Budha
Mr. Mahesh Kumar Budha is the founder of Joy Treks and Expeditions (P) Ltd. He, the youngest child of a poor rural family in mid-western Nepal (Rukum), began his career at a multinational Travel and Trekking agency in 1994 AD as a porter. Through his diligence and hard work, Mahesh became a leader in Nepal's tourist industry. He has led numerous treks all over Nepal, Tibet, and India. His caring dedication to his clients and his crew makes him a unique and sought-after travel partner for adventurers from all over the world.
Mahesh has not only been working in Nepal’s tourism industry, but he has also learned and seen tourism outside Nepal. Mahesh has traveled to many countries in Europe, Asia, and America. Mahesh also serves on the executive board of Suswasthya Nepal (Good Health Nepal), a local NGO that connects rural communities to basic healthcare services.
Mahesh has also served in many other social organizations like the executive board of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Magar Tourism Society, and he is currently serving as a President for Bhoome Samaj, Kathmandu. Mr. Kabish Shrestha
Mr. Kabish Shrestha is the co-founder of Joy Treks & Expeditions. He was born and grew up in Dharan, East Nepal. From a young age, he was fond of nature and hiking in various parts of the Himalayas. He finished his entire school life in Dharan and went to Kathmandu for his further education. He can speak Korean, English, and Hindi fluently.
He has led numerous treks in different places of Nepal, including Annapurna Base Camp, Langtang, Manasulu, and Everest Base Camp. This young, energetic, and well-qualified man wants to give his best to joy treks and ultimately wants to contribute towards Nepal’s tourism for its betterment.

Gokul Chhantyal
Gokul comes from Baglung, near Mt. Dhaulagiri. He started his career in 1996 as a porter in Pokhara. Due to his frank nature and good contribution, he was called to Kathmandu to work for a multinational adventure company. Not only does he guide people in the mountains, but also known as a very good trekking cook.
Gokul loves to serve his guests' cooked food prepared by himself. He has led numerous treks in Nepal, India, and Tibet. As a result, today, he has become an important part of Joy Treks. He is one of the most demanding trekking guides in Nepal.

Ram Roka
Mr. Ram Roka was born and grew up in the hilly region of Nepal, Rolpa. He started his career as a porter at a multinational Trekking agency in 1992. As a result of his hard work, honesty, and great performance, he became a cook in 1995 after working as a kitchen boy and upgraded as a senior kitchen boy.
He has cooked and served healthy foods to thousands of trekkers in his life through all of the trekking routes in Nepal, India, and Tibet. He doesn’t only love cooking but also takes great care of his clients throughout challenging ascents and descents in the mountains.

Bijay Thing
Bijay comes from the Kavre district, near Kathmandu. He started his career in 1995 as a trekking porter. Since then, Bijay worked for Royal Mountain Treks for almost 17 years, including 15 years as a trekking guide, and now he has been working as a senior trekking guide for Joy Treks and Expeditions.
He has completed Trekking Guide Training, First Aid Training and has also attended numerous other training related to tourism. He has climbed Island Peak, Mera Peak, and several other trekking peaks during his guiding experience.
His area of expertise includes the Annapurna Circuit, Tilicho Lake, Langtang, Everest Region, Kanchenjunga, and Manaslu treks. He has a vast knowledge of trekking in the Annapurna and Langtang regions and always loves to trek and climb mountains. He is not only limited as a trekking guide but also involved in the field of social work.

Melina
Melina was born in Dang, the mid-western part of Nepal. When she did her bachelor's from university, she moved out to Kathmandu to seek a job so that she could continue her degree. She decided to work in the trekking fields.
When there were not enough female trekking guides working, Melina grew up so quickly, and now she is actively encouraging all the women to join the industry. She loves to travel and has finally become a vital part of the Joy Treks and Expedition.
